Started as a passion and hobby, Nytys saw the light as a brand in 2006. It was established only after years of studying weaving techniques, Lithuanian textiles and collecting historical information.
Over all these years, we gathered around many professionals and woven design enthusiasts, who come to study weaving handicraft in our studio and then stay to work with us. These highly skilled artisans were, are and surely will be the foundation of our brand.
They are our strength and the great treasure, since our garments are purely handmade. Natural materials and authentic weaving techniques are foundations of Nytys. We use only natural threads - mainly linen and wool, which are woven on 100 years old original looms. After all, harmony in all aspects of life is what is so important to achieve for many of us. We believe that our hand made linen scarves, tops and tunics will help to go one step further towards it...
ABOUT US NYTYS
Two women brought together by a coincidence for the Lithuanian textiles and started to collect historical information, study weaving techniques. In the very beginning it was a common passion and a hobby, which was developing deeper over time. The new company “Audimo manufaktūra” was established in 2006 and already had a strong background based on the great experiences and study.
All these people are out true strength and our great treasure.
Hand-weaving is different from machine weaving, therefore the freedom for creative expression is highly valued. Without striving to imitate machine-made products “Audimo manufaktūra” does what only human beings can do.
NYTYS is what we value the most: the interaction between person and nature itself, with the traditions and ecology. NYTYS is the essential part of weaving-looms, the so-called loom‘s “computer” which depends on the pattern of the fabric and its complexity.
All NYTYS’ products are hand-woven, only natural threads are used, in that way the high quality is obtained and sustained.
The ancient weaving techniques are combined with the modern attitude, and despite the archaic mode of production, the innovative ideas are applied in order to create the product attractive to the contemporary customer.
In 2018 NYTYS joined a HORECA collaborative project by Lithuanian Cluster: We Are Baltic. We have developed a line of premium gift sets, as well as unique hand-woven interior elements.
